The NPORS National Plant Operators Registration Scheme is now one of the UK’s leading CSCS affiliated carding schemes and is accepted across the Construction, Industrial, Utilities, Warehousing and Port and Marine sectors to name a few.
· What are the entry requirements?
In terms of technical ability, there are no requirements for you to have any level of experience in operating this category of plant. If you are wanting to gain a CSCS affiliated card to gain employment in the construction industry, you will be required to achieve a pass on the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test for Operatives. If you are intending on operating outside of the construction industry, there are no prerequisites at all.
All candidness will have to provide their own PPE to start the course

Course Objective
The objective of this course is to provide delegates with the knowledge and skills that will enable them to safely and competently operate a Forward tipping dumper in line with NPORS guidelines.
Þ A basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry, and their responsibilities as an operator
Þ Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular machine to be used
Þ Be able to locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions
Þ Be able to locate and identify key controls and explain their functions
Þ Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturers and legislative requirements
Þ Identify and maintain PPE appropriate for forward tipping dumper use
Þ Prepare the forward tipping dumper for use and operate safely and efficiently
Þ Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area
Þ Attach and set trailers, ready for operation
Þ Environmental considerations
